Generation 1, Chapter 3: Can you hear the wedding bells?

[I am posting this A LOT earlier than I wanted to, as I'm going to my uncle's house for the day]

This is possibly the most nerve-wrecking day of my life.

All around me, my bridesmaids scurry to get their hair and make up ready. Their outfit consists of short, white dresses, with a bow in the middle that matches their hair color. The hairstyle I chose for them to have is a loose bun, tied at the back of their heads.
I, on the other hand, don't have it so easy. My dress is much more complicated to get on, and my hair has to be styled in curls. The stress is just too much to handle, that I can't help but freak out every few minutes.

"WHY hast thou forsaken me, O deity whose existence I doubt!," I cry out, using a quote from my favorite comedy show, The Big Bang Theory
Before I can break down the place, there’s a knock against the doorway.

"Well, well, well. Who do we have here who is getting married?!" my mother laughs.

"Mom!" I smile. "Thank goodness you're here!" I pull her in for a tight hug, so glad there is a family member here to support me.

"Oh, dear, I would never miss your wedding, just like I didn’t miss your sister’s wedding!" my mom replies, referencing to my sister Carmen, who just the other day, went to Vegas and eloped - with my mother accompanying them.
Coming up right behind my mother is a woman I vaguely recognize, but don’t remember where I know her from.

"Hello dear. I'm Mary Webber, Alex's mother. It's so good to see you again after all these years, knowing you'll become my daughter-in-law!"

"Misses Webber!  I knew you looked familiar... Thank you so much for coming. Did Mister Webber also accompany you?"

"Unfortunately, no. His sister has some health problems, so he has stayed behind to take care of her. But do know that he would have loved to be here and meet you!"
Loud cackles coming from the door interrupted my conversation with Mary. Turns out, Carmen herself decided to come. I'd thought she'd still be on honeymoon.

"Do you know how stressed out you look like? It's friggin' hilarious, seeing you like this, dressed in robes and all! Oh my gosh, where's a camera so I can snap a photo?!"

I roll my eyes at her behavior, and direct my attention to my father. "Hey, daddy. Where's Grace?"
"Grace is just here, in the hallway. But, eh, you're in for a shock..." My dad hesitated when speaking.

"What do you mean?" I ask, confused.

"Let's just say, Grace got a make over... And some plastic surgery."

Outside in the hall, a person that resembles my older sister walks around. But can that truly be her? Her cheek size is even different?

"I call it, 'Pure of heart interior mixed with rocker chic exterior'," Carmen chuckles.
"ALRIGHT. Everyone who is NOT a bridesmaid or stylist, get out, NOW!" Calista orders everyone.

"Sorry about that, but they were getting on my nerves!," Callie apologizes when she gets back to me, as I sit in front of the mirror. "So, do you still want your hair slightly curled, hanging down one of your shoulders?"

"Yes. Let's get it done with."
Three hours later, my make up is finally done, my hair is curled, and I have my wedding dress on. I can't control the nervous feeling scurrying through my body - tying the knot with Alex is great! But for me, it's only great when it's over. Getting through the ceremony will be the hardest thing. Will I make a mistake somewhere, and be the laughing stock of my wedding?
"I can sense those bad thoughts you're having, Dessie! Come on, breathe in, relax, stay calm, and all will be fine. You look stunning, and you’re getting married to a fabulous guy. You should be happy out of your heels!"

"You're right!," I smile timidly. "It's supposed to be a great day, and it WILL be a great day."
The venue for my wedding is a beautiful little place called Ramona Gardens, on the verge of some cliffs over looking the ocean. To me, it has a peaceful aura, and so that is the reason I preferred it over the beach wedding.
My bridal party lines up alphabetically (but with the Maid of Honor at the back of the row, mind you), after much squabbling about "who walks first" and all that. After a quick hush from Calista, everything is back on track. Bless her heart!
As we walk and line up to walk down the aisle, I notice a very good friend of mine, Isabella Austin, who I hardly ever spent time with over the past few years. I'm so glad she made it to the wedding, though!
"So, how you feeling, kiddo?" my dad whispers to me as he leads me down the aisle.

"Nauseous. But still happy at the same time, I have to admit..," I reply.

"Good. I don't think I would have let you go if you weren't ready for this!" Daddy sighs. "I'm glad you finally found the right man for you, sweetie. After all the previous chaos with your other boyfriends! Well, you deserve some peace and happiness."
"Thanks, daddy," I smile, and he finally lets go of me, leaving free to walk towards Alex on my own.

"So here we are!," Alex trails off.

"Here we are," I agree.

The priest starts with the ceremony, starting it with the clichéd 'We are gathered here today...' speech. During that time, I don't take my eyes off of Alex even once.
We had decided to not have special speeches from our friends, which makes the wedding time much shorter, and already we’re reciting our vows.

Alex’s vows:

"I'll always be thankful that your parents named you 'Destiny'. A lot of people you meet don't understand it, but I am one that does. When we met again, at the park, it was destiny. It was destiny for us to meet, because honestly, I can’t think of how my life would have been if I was without you. You are my sunshine, my sweetheart, my love. I promise to always remain faithful, to always be there in your time of need, and to always love you."

My vows:

"Alexander Dean Webber. You are the silliest, scatterbrained person I know. And I adore you because of that. We haven't shared too many pains and troubles, but I will be there for you always, when you’re in pain, when you have stress, or when you need someone to listen to your frustrations. I will be like your best buddy, your rock of support. If you ever shed a tear, I'll be that irritating person that always feels the need to wipe it off. This is my promise to you, that I will love you everyday for the rest of forever, and that that will never change."

The rings are then given to us, and we exchange traditional wedding vows.

Alex: "I give you this ring to wear with love and joy. As a ring has no end, neither shall my love for you. I choose you to be my wife, this day and forevermore."

Mine: "I give you this ring to wear with love and joy. As a ring has no end, neither shall my love for you. I choose you to be my husband, this day and forevermore."
With the rings exchanged, the priest clears his throat to speak.

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife! Alex, you may kiss your bride!"
Cheers erupted from the crowd, and even the priest is a little emotional.
The cheers don't die off as one would expect, but only become louder, as people start throwing pieces of rice and confetti at us. Alex and I can hardly contain our laughter as we try to get the confetti off of our outfits.
When its cake cutting time, Alex takes the lead with the knife, which causes more laughter, as he throws me with some of the creamy delicacy.

"NO FAIR!" I laugh, trying to wipe off the cream from my face, which only makes it worse, and later on we're both covered in white as he tries to help me.

"Who knew cake could make such a mess," Alex smiles at me, again trying to wipe off some cream on my cheek.
Two hours after the wedding's craziness, Alex takes me down to the beach, where we originally planned to have the wedding. It's a calming effect, as after all the excitement, here we are, sitting on the sand and watching the stars, with only the crickets causing noise.
"Care to dance, Misses Webber?" Alex asks, offering his hand.

"I would love to, Mister Webber!" I reply, taking his hand.

Alex hums the Waltz tune, and we softly move over the sand.

"I never want to forget this moment. It's perfect." I close my eyes, resting against his chest.

"Well, then you will love this even more! For our honeymoon, we're going overseas!"
I'd like to thank a certain someone for the Tiki Outdoor Party set from The Sims 3 Store! It is very much appreciated, and I can already see how I can hold parties that are themed like this.

And THAT, my dear readers, is the end of this chapter.

Thank you very much for reading, and have a great day!

:)

  2. Oh my gosh. When they were reciting their vows I nearly cried. xD It was so cute!! :')
Dang, Carmen was terrible. xD Telling Destiny that it was funny that she was panicking. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. At first I thought Destiny's dad was her husband and thought, "Wow, what a gold digger..." But then I found out that was her dad. Whoops. O.o
Also, this is totally random but I loved when Destiny said the Big Bang Theory quote. xD

  4. I had other blogs to read but I went straight to this one. :D

The wedding looked perfect! I laughed at Liana's face when the priest cried she was like "Man up dude!" :L And speaking of Liana, thanks so much for letting her be in your wedding, it's much appreciated :D

The dance scene looked beautiful as did Destiny in her dress, well she does always but.. more if possible :)

I can't wait to see the honeymoon, looks like it's gonna be good Mrs Destiny Webber. ;)

Your sisters part shocked me with the full makeover and the rude behaviour if only they could be more like you huh :p

  5. Thank you everyone! This will be a quick reply, as I'm sneaking on my grandma's computer without anyone knowing... >.>

ENTELLIGENT, you're free to use her as you like! Just nothing too crazy. :P

Aww, Liana, you make me smile! I'd just like to point out to everyone that Carmen's behavior is a lot like my own sister's behavior IRL. It sounds mean, but intended as humor, and to cheer Destiny up a lil' bit!

Amanda, I'm so laughing at everything you said! I'm so glad someone appreciated the quote.

  6. Aw, Destiny! You're married! :')
I loved every bit of this post. The beginning was nice. I loved meeting Alex's mom and seeing Destiny's mom all together-it created a wonderfully family-oriented affair. :)
I also want to take this time to thank you for allowing Amber to be in your wedding party. It meant a lot more to me than I think I could ever express, and I really did appreciate it. :)
Now, to my thoughts on the actual ceremony. It was BEAUTIFUL! The venue for the wedding was a wonderful idea, and was set up to it's prime. I like how quaint it was. The vows were tear-jerkers, and obviously well thought out.
    And finally, to the last scene. The moment on the beach was a beautiful one, and it really summed up their relationship. Alex is a wonderful man. ;_____;
    Love,
    Amber and James

  8. Omg Destiny, erm excuse me, I mean, MRS. Webber. :)

I'm so glad your maid of honor was so demanding, if not, that wedding would not have gone so well. Destiny was so beautiful in her dress and I can understand why Destiny wanted Ramona Gardens as the venue, instead of the beach, because it was lovely!

You said you were terrible at writing vows? They were amazing, much better than I could write. You played out the wedding flawlessly and made it look so easy!

I loved seeing Luke, bring on the kids!
